Starting from sociology and career planning, this programme shows students how life and death actually operate at the level of society: Hong Kong funeral culture, green burials and advance medical directives; the study and career paths in death-related professions; and social issues such as population ageing and elderly people living alone, building empathy and a sense of community care.
What we cover
- 01Life and death, Hong Kong style: funeral culture, green burials (sea and garden burials) and advance medical directives, demystifying the industry
- 02A new angle on career planning: death educators, estate organisers, funeral planners and grief counsellors, widening study and career horizons
- 03Community care in action: population ageing and elderly people living alone, building empathy and community awareness
